Red Deer Regional Airport (YQF) Prepares for a Transition in Leadership

Red Deer, AB | February 20, 2024 – The Red Deer Regional Airport is gearing up for a significant transition in leadership as CEO Graham Ingham steps aside. Ingham, who has led the organization for over seven years, leaves behind a legacy of strategic vision and accomplishment.

Acknowledging Ingham’s pivotal role in the airport’s growth, Red Deer Regional Airport Board Chair Iaian Park expressed gratitude, stating, “Graham’s leadership has been instrumental in propelling the airport to its current position. His strategic foresight has revitalized existing infrastructure, creating opportunities for the airport to attract diverse aviation organizations, fostering sustainability and job creation for the region.”

Ken Schulzke, Past Chair, echoed these sentiments, describing Ingham as a “quiet strength” who overcame adversity while steering the airport through a three-phase major expansion project. With the completion of phase one and the commencement of phases two and three, Ingham leaves a lasting legacy poised to support the region for years to come.

In addition to overseeing the expansion project, Ingham championed community leadership, a pillar of the airport’s mission to advocate for the aviation industry. The airport’s success in supporting community events, such as Girls in Aviation Day and the Red Deer Regional Airshow, underscores Ingham’s commitment to engaging with the community and promoting aviation.

Looking ahead, Park emphasized the airport’s commitment to safety, security, and service, affirming its role as a key economic driver and aviation gateway for Central Alberta. “We are excited to continue playing a significant role in driving future economic growth and prosperity for the region,” Park added.

Reflecting on his tenure, Ingham expressed pride in his accomplishments at the Red Deer Regional Airport. “Our journey over these years has been marked by challenges, but it has positioned us for a bright future,” said Ingham. “I am confident the airport is ready to realize its growth potential. I am grateful for the support of our staff, board, tenants, provincial government, and key stakeholders, which have made the Red Deer Regional Airport an incredible asset for our region.”

The Red Deer Regional Airport Board will commence its search for a new CEO immediately, with the aim of appointing a successor by summer.
