Reporting of possible aviation regulations

The occurrences and alleged violations of the regulations are investigated to ascertain whether a violation has occurred. Only Transport Canada has the authority to impose penalties for aviation violations.

Low flying aircrafts

Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) 602.14-602.16, prescribes 1,000 feet as the minimum altitude that an aircraft may fly-over a built up area (500 feet for water), unless the aircraft is conducting a take-off, approach, or landing (other exemptions may apply).

To report possible violations, you may contact Civil Aviation Communications Centre (CACC) at 1.800.305.2059 or services@tc.gc.ca.

When contacting CACC, ensure that you have as much information available as possible. This would include the date and time of the incident, what was happening, the tail number, colour of the plane, type and size of the plane (bi-plane, fixed wing, helicopter, etc.)
